Wasatch Backcountry Rescue
Wasatch Backcountry Rescue (WBR) is a non-profit search-and-rescue organization in the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake City, Utah. WBR's first initiative is to provide rapid response for avalanche rescue, winter-related mountain rescue, and medical evacuation incidents using trained professionals and search-and-rescue dogs. WBR also works to educate local backcountry users in safe techniques for mountain travel and gear use.
Friends of CAIC
Friends of CAIC (Colorado Avalanche Information Center) is a non-profit fundraising group that works to provide the necessary funds in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources and the Colorado Department of Transportation. The mission of the CAIC is to provide avalanche information, education, and promote research for the protection of life, property, and the enhancement of the state’s economy.
